Why is Jose Baez trying to keep Leonard Padilla’s interview from the public? Leonard Padilla, on Nancy Grace every night for so long. I’m sure there is much he didn’t tell, and of course Tracy hasn’t talked to the press. Apparently there was major discovery for the defense today. It also appears that they are hot after Tim Miller and his records again. It seems that there may be a major document dump coming, of course I guess that depends on the Judge. I think I’m beginning to see what the little “Damage Control” stunt of a radio show was about. Now in the Local 6 link it appears that Baez is trying to keep Leonard Padilla from talking to prosecutors, as he had an agreement with the defense. REALLY??? This is getting interesting. It seems that Baez filed a flurry of motions according to Orlando Sentinel. He filed motions to delay the check fraud trial, and again to keep Leonard Padilla from talking about their conversations. Yet, it does say he was trying to keep his interview from the public. Why is he after Tim Miller again??? My guess to try and say Caylee wasn’t there again. I guess he’s back on that, which means they have nothing, and that is clearer and clearer. What do you think???

Baez was also stupid enough to open his mouth to LP about their defense or where they are going. I believe it was LP that told the Grunds, they are throwing Jesse under the bus. Do you remember long ago LP on NG talked about a card or something Baez showed him from Jesse. I can’t remember the words LP used, but one of the places they were looking at throwing the blame, on Jesse. What idiot shares their defense with the bondsman…he isn’t part of the defense.
Are we even sure that Baez called LP to help bond her out. I thought LP made the decision on his own. I do like him, but I also do believe he was looking for the publicity he would receive and that is why he originally joined in. LP thought he would ride in bond her out and she would tell where an alive Caylee is. Baez’s and LP’s goals were very different in the beginning of this and I don’t believe he was ever part of the defense. I did get worried last night when I noticed the privacy agreement…I still have to read. Didn’t LP have to sign papers not to make a movie and such?
The state has so much against Casey…the defense will go after anyone and everyone they can.

Good morning OA, Andrea, Jill, Molly & Diana . . . Niecey, thanks again for bringing us the latest and offering it up to us with your bang-on interpretations. I’ve taken a little break from it all, but I’m back with re-newed curiosity at to what the crazy defense team will do next!
Every once in a while the reality hits a nerve and for a few fleeting moments I am up close and personal with the evilness of what Casey did and the games she played with us and with her daughter and with her family! Most of the time I think Mother Nature has included a nice buffer from reality in our brains and so usually I can think about the case at this point, logically and fairly unemotionally. And then sometimes I can’t.
Anyway ~ I ran across this at another site and it was something I hadn’t made the connections on. I think this blogger could be right. What do you guys think?

I’m not really sure why he’s a lawyer. Anyway, I think NeJame will most likely get him in court. Is this a cover, a front? I’m really not sure what, if anything LP had to sign, but I’m sure Baez ran his mouth. I agree with you about them going after anyone. There is more to this.

Something is not right, and I wonder if it’s about the document dump, or could it be about the Bar investigation??? niecey Baez actual filings were to be expected. In light of the Civil Case(s) Amy H. & Morgan & Morgan Esq., per your question as to counter and/or belabor the inevitable is a Lawyers forte(some will argue not in Baez case)bury the State in motion(s) to slow down the process. At any rate,
Baez has a time clock ticking.
IMO Baez trying to challenge many issues already addressed/denied, moot point(s). Nonetheless, it would be a gross misstep if he et all would be complicit. As for the documents~ motions to suppress, some of the more damning evidence may in fact be linked to Dom.C.
Lenny P.. & Co. IIRC did not have an written agreement,
and to try the” ole hold your feet to the fire “,will fail. Tracy McL. information will/is credible, if any of this were not biased in the sense that Baez’s client was innocent to the statements given, Baez would not be fighting the issue.
The State will pay will over $20,000G’s to prosecute the Fraud case, for a several hundred. Seems askew , perhaps, but allows the State to show a conviction, thus adding sentencing time to the Criminal Case. IMO worth the effort to pursue. The flip side , Morgan & Morgan could indeed crack the case, follow the Money. In some inner circles , some information emerged relevant to M. Bart and Baez, both well acquainted prior to engaging the Anthony’s.
Now that little tibit could be construed as “Conflict of Interest” (*side note Michelle’s little Radio Presser), paramount or timing in the Baez filings?

OA, I agree with you about Niecey’s organizational skills. She does meticulous research and then presents it in a clear, understandable way. When there’s not much happening in the case I often surf around the net looking for other people’s opinions and I see what’s out there in Blogdom. OA that is unbelievable. If they had that kind of info, then I don’t understand why they didn’t use it to start with. Doesn’t make sense. I hope no one is donating. Kelsey Briggs’ mom is trying to do the same thing, saying she was deceived by her hubby, and she had nothing to do with harming her child. Yet DCF took Kelsey away first with a broken collar bone, and bruises, and she wasn’t married to him then. She married him, second time Kelsey had 2 broken legs, and bruises, 3rd time she was dead. They exhumed her body and found out he’d been molesting her over a period of time. I wouldn’t call that woman innocent. Kelsey was 2. If I’m not mistaken, they found DNA evidence in the house that Scott tried to clean up, so I don’t know how anyone could buy he didn’t do it. I know there was much more than that.

Hopefully the Grievance Committee will come forth with their decision in the next week or so…it has been several months now…quite unusual for them to take so much time….Baez must be worried…JMO.

Bees, I think the Bar is taking their time to have all their facts straight, and that is not necessarily a bad thing. I think they could very well get him. I agree it wasn’t too smart to have Casey plead not guilty to charges she was so obviously guilty off. Of course Bozo is not a bright guy to start with. I do believe that is about to catch up with him, in more ways than one.

I don’t think they’d find even one juror to buy that, but I think they’re hoping it may just be enough to cast a tiny bit of doubt and isn’t that all they need? I believe that Cindy could be complicit in this decision, knowing she would never be convicted and that it may end in her daughter’s freedom. It’s ridiculous and a huge long-shot, but what else do they have? Even if it ends up not going down that way, I believe it is something they’ve all discussed and considered at least.
Niecey, you and Ostella are probably right about the thoroughness of the Florida Bar. Whatever decision they come to will not have been arrived at lightly.

Apparently there are rumors flying around jail that Casey is starting to talk with inmates. It sounds to them like she is implicating Lee as Caylee’s killer. She has said things like, “When the time is right, she’s going to be leaving the jail, while passing Lee on his way in.” Only time will tell if there’s anything to this, but Lee has disappeared lately. Any guesses at what he’s up to?

I do think the Bar is being thorough. Where did you hear that about Casey and Lee??? I’m not sure if I see that happening or not, and I think I would need more detail, to really make a good decision about that. I’ve heard many speculate that they would point the finger at a family member and they would be willing to take it, as they know they couldn’t be convicted. I think that is really stretching it, most especially since the word from their camp from Brad Conway, is that they know Casey had something to do with it. Every scenario, according to him that they have looked at, she’s still involved.

It sure would be nice to hear back from the Florida Bar. Also I wonder when M & M will be able to finish the depos. Not to mention the different motions and suppressions and rulings etc. They keep putting everything off but it’s not going away. They’ll have to deal with it at some point! I wonder if everything has been put on hold pending the Bar’s decision. Could that be it, Niecey?
Bees, I do think a lot is hinging on that decision. (the Bar’s) I don’t think I buy the thing about Lee. I think that is just speculation, based on him being quiet and such. If you think about it, he’s been relatively quiet through the whole case. He’s not been one to talk much to the press, and he seems to try and stay out of the limelight, unless he’s mad, and at certain points, when he has to. I also am suspect about the rumor mill with the inmates, as from what we are told she has very little, if any contact with them.
I think when the Bar investigation comes down, and the decision is made about the check fraud trial, things will pick up again. Andrea Lyon even said that she was filing her motions after Labor Day. I keep looking for those headlines.

On another note, what do you think about all of Baez’s motions? Don’t you think the court will get sick and tired of this at some point? He (Bozo) is obviously going to keep it up for as long as he is allowed. I just wonder if that ends up alienating people, like the jury or will they ever even know of it? Just the expense of all these extra motions alone is frustrating, never mind the ethics!
I need to be away from my home and my computer for a couple days starting tomorrow and I know I’ll just be having a fit to get back to it and see everything I’ve missed.

Oh, okay Bees, I misunderstood the WFTV link. I didn’t realize it was the blog you were asking about. I did see it. I do think that the motions, some at least are to be expected for now. The defense doesn’t have anything. It’s frustrating, and costly, but I believe that the good Judge will strike down the irrelevant and bogus ones. I think they are just mindlessly searching and grasping for anything, and to create doubt in any direction. I still don’t think this case will make a full fledged trial. I think a plea will come. The next order is the Bar investigation, and of course the check fraud trial. What will be done? Don’t worry too much, I don’t think you will miss too much. Tina, I’m so sorry you had a heat stroke. Please take care of yourself. It’s amazing that everyone is so hot right now. Where I live in Florida, we just had a cold front go through last weekend, and we have had night time temps in the 60’s, and daytime temps in the mid 80’s. Yes in Florida! Niecey is very thankful!!!
Please everyone be careful of the heat. You must stay hydrated. Tina, I’m glad you are okay. That can be serious.
I do hope Amy presses forward. I think she will. We shall see. Casey is a different sort, that’s for sure.
Ostella, I agree about that blog. I think it’s gossip too. I remember recently that that one inmate sold her story to the NE and then she got in trouble again. Orange County Jail officials had said there was no way her claims could be true. I think it’s a 15 mins of fame thing.
I do get tickled about the BOA trick of Bozo’s that was well, Smooth move Exlax. He’s just not too bright. Is he??? He never ceases to amaze me. Wonder what he’ll think of next? Probably shouldn’t ask. LOL!

Hey Tina! Glad you are better. Be careful. Don’t drink the water too fast either, as that will make you sick too. I live in the Panhandle of Florida, quite a distance from Orlando. I’m not sad about the weather here. We had a terrible heat wave last month, and we were in the triple digits. This cold front was welcome and the temps have been pleasant. Very unusual for us in July, but I’m thankful!

Tina, It’s funny that you just got that, because I went on a search for it yesterday, again. I did misquote it and I apologize. I didn’t take it offensively. I felt bad, because I realized when I started searching that I had it out of context and didn’t mean to. I have scriptures memorized that I know exactly where they are, but that one came from a lesson, so I memorized it rather out of context. I felt bad for doing so. I always try for accuracy, and most especially with God’s Word, but I made a mistake and I am certainly humble enough to admit it and correct myself. The computer helped me pinpoint how I got it put together that way, better. Thus being able to give you where it really did come from. (many places, and great lesson, but I felt bad for not quoting it right) I appreciate your research as well. I just love the Word Of God!!!

Until His timing is complete on these matters, all we can do is what we feel He leads us to do. I am about to start working on a post about the children that are abused unto their deaths, and there is way too many of them, but I found a site, that has some solutions, and some are better than none. God is leading us all on a journey. I feel He has lead me on this one, to bring some awareness to me, and most of all to others. Maybe there is something we can do to try and stop some of this from happening. You haven’t exhausted me, you have inspired me.
