According to an updated Wesh 2 news report based on the documents released Friday, Orlando Defense Attorney Richard Hornsby is strongly recommending the defense for Casey Anthony reconsider their “all or nothing strategy”. Check it out:

Mr. Hornsby had some very interesting things to say, like:
“My reaction is now I understand why the state attorney is seeking the death penalty. You now have the premeditation filled in. You now have the cause of death filled in,” (speaking about the documents)
“They confirm Caylee was dead at the time Casey had the car. In fact, she was trying to conceal the car from everybody else,” (speaking about the coffin flies)
“The chloroform is the smoking gun. It’s the nail in the coffin, and the duct tape supports the imposition of the death penalty,”
I must say I completely agree with his analysis. I gave you my take on the docs already and I think Mr. Hornsby and I have a lot in common in our thinking here. I agree with him 100%! I find it very interesting that the defense has not responded this time. No comments, no media circus, no Geraldo At Large, nothing. That’s a bit out of character for the “dream team”. I think this latest was a pretty big blow, and maybe it is time they rethink the strategy, as the previous gamble hasn’t been working, and they’ve got to come up with some info come February to back up their previous claims. I don’t see them having it.

Of course we know they have the wonderful Doca Lee. I assume he doesn’t claim to do junk science, just hid evidence.

Defense still uncharacteristically quiet. Do you think they’re just waiting to see how we deal with the latest evidence (chloroform needle)? I hope they can see we are appropriately horrified and more determined than ever that Caylee’s murderer is brought to justice.
I’m not sure why they are so quiet, except that was a pretty big blow, but usually they do at least release a statement. Of course they are not in a very good position right now. This is very uncharacteristic for them.
My take on this last release is that Bozo’s ego is so big it does not phase him at all.
Bozo must have a brother who is also an attorney. There was a case just last week where a guy from FL went to Jersey and shot his son-in-law, dead. The trial was in Jersey and the defense was that the killer was to fat, (280)lbs to run up the stairs, shoot him and drive to Louisiana to his mothers house.
Now how insane is that, well maybe not so bad compared to Casey and Bozo.
It probably doesn’t faze him at all. Maybe the Lyon told them all to shut up? After all Todd got them in a bit of a fix. Baez is still arrogant enough to believe he can win. Todd is still ignorant enough to run his mouth. The Lyon is the only one I could think could be keeping a firm hand on them, although I’m not really impressed with her either. LKB was supposed to be on a blog talk radio show on Sunday I believe.
That is completely insane John! I think we need to get a handle on the political side of our law schools. I think they’re turning out politicians instead of attorneys. Amazing!

I am sure you have all heard about crazy astronaut Nowak getting virtually no punishment at all for assaulting and attempting to kidnap her love rival for a married man.
“Under the plea deal, she agreed to a year of probation and 50 hours of community service.”
The woman thought long and hard enough about hurting an unsuspecting victim to buy adult diapers so that she didn’t have to stop on her long drive in a car stocked with kidnapping and imprisonment equipment… and our justice system felt this was the appropriate punishment…
This is less than the normal sentence a shoplifter gets.
Probably not a great day for victims’ rights today…

I was just looking at the photos of the kids on the right side of this page and I must say that is so sad to think a parent can do this to their own child. its bad whenever a stranger does this but for a mother to do it, that makes it all the more a terrible crime. the justice system in this country needs to be revamped. I think for those who take the life of a child should face the dp and nothing else. no life w/o parole and no 25-life. it should only be the dp for these people. and if the justice system did that, then maybe it would put a stop to all of these murders of children. they deserve to live too.
Hey Argentina Rose! I agree with you. I just don’t understand it. Yes we do need an overhaul! No doubt, and might I add that if a life sentence meant life, it might make a difference too. Life shouldn’t mean 25 years and parole, but life, period. It’s a shame when people that steal things get worse punishments many times than people who hurt and destroy other lives. It’s the worst form of stealing.

I agree, yet an innocent person with no money will get slammed. What’s wrong with that picture? Seems these bleeding heart defense attorneys(many, not all) seek out the guilty to help, never the innocent. Some US zoo’s do have animals from many other Countries…I hope the one in Utah has some Koalas so you may see them.

Jill, I had a similar problem months ago logging onto wordpress. Not on JIF’s blog, but WP in general. I asked them to send me a new password, and it was about 60 characters long with symbols peppered in there…. It didn’t work. A little later, I went to log into my avatar account (to change my avatar), to learn my “password” didn’t work there either. So I changed my password there, then tried backing out and logging into WordPress again with the new password I had just assigned, and it worked!!!! So they are connected. I would reccommend resetting your avatar acct password, then try logging into WP using that…. I hope it works…..

Personally I’m just fine with Life. That’s me. I believe the DP should be reserved for serial killers, people that are murdering monsters. I do however see like I’ve said, and you have said why they are asking for it.

Hello Mr. Hornsby. I would like Casey to know the fear of death as Caylee did, and for that I’m okay with the DP (and I’m a pacifist ~ Canadian). Second best, of course would be LWOP but I think Casey might thrive in a highly structured prison environment. Our own murdering psychopath, Karla Homolka, worked her way through our penal system ~ completed her high school diploma and took correspondence courses in sociology through nearby Queen’s University, learned a second language ~ she appeared to thrive in a highly structured prison environment. I have a feeling Casey might thrive as well, and she doesn’t deserve it.
Bees, I know that they’ve had access to speak with her, but have never heard whether or not they interviewed her.
I know she was house sitting when Caylee’s remains were found and LE basically went in on their search warrant while she was there at first. I think she quickly left, but that’s the only time I know of. There is still so much we don’t know in this case, I’m assuming it’s possible they may have, but can’t tell you they have.

supposed smoking gun in the Casey Anthony case is “a big fizzle,” WKMG-Channel 6 reporter Tony Pipitone said tonight.
Pipitone noted that local and national media highlighted that chloroform was found in a Gatorade bottle and syringe discovered near Caylee Anthony’s remains. Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter. The state released documents about the chloroform last week.
But earlier this week, Pipitone reported that the amount of chloroform was insignificant. WKMG consulted an independent chemist in reporting its story.
Anthony attorney Jose Baez cited the Pipitone report today. “You can find those chemicals and the byproducts in tap water,” Baez said. “I think, as [with] everything else in this case, it was blown way out of proportion. I’m sure it made a great headline and got everybody excited, but I don’t think it did any more than that.”
Other media have reported the bottle was full of chloroform. Anchor Jacqueline London wanted to know what was in the bottle.
“Basically, water, cleaning fluid and testosterone compound,” Pipitone said. “It seems it might have been someone’s steroid kit that was found, but no connection that we know of to Casey.”

Mr. Hornsby, I was not at all for the DP either, but I feel killing children has gotten out of control in this country. It is time to put an end to it! Children are helpless little people. They can not defend themselves. We need to take a stand and stop this.

I’m still thinking the chloroform, no matter how small, is part of the murder. Chloroform evaporates very quickly so that would answer why so little was found in the syringe/bottle months later. Besides, there’s a good chance of a fingerprint being lifted from the plunger of the syringe. I’m assuming it was protected from the elements, right cause it was inside the bottle.

Bees, yes, the syringe was sealed inside the bottle, protected from the elements. My guess is the bottle contains a mix of broken down chloroform and steroid. My next guess is it was originally used by Casey for sexual purposes, and later used as a murder weapon. I’m still up in the air regarding whether she swiped the syringe from somebody…..

If Baez and the Channel 6 chemist think it was nothing more than tap water…would the drink it or inject it to prove it so??? Bet Not.

I have a question about fingerprints. If the State has Casey’s prints (I believe they do) would that bombshell have to be released with everything else or can they hold onto that evidence and keep it from either the defense (not likely, huh?) or the public, prior to the trial? Or possibly the defense has been given it but they can keep it out of the media until the trial begins? Anyone know?
The defense would be made aware, but we may not. I don’t think they can hold anything back in the discovery process, at least to the other side, the public, yes they can hold it back from us.

Thank you, New Puppy. I found it very odd that these people would wrongly assume that I would just sit back and do nothing. With a certain understanding of law, I would make a strong guess that the individuals involved will not be forwarded on to me by LE if and when an investigation takes place. I have decided to add the FBI and FCC in my list of who will get this letter. What else is strange is that these people think I am too stupid to know how to write. This is really an incredibly bad judgment call.
By the way, I will guess that one of the ALLEGED perpetrators could be another blog. That blog is also fomenting trouble. I’ll give you a clue… it isn’t nephewy456. A certain commenter from a city where the Red Sox hail is an instigator, in my opinion, but it may be just at that site.

I am not the least bit worried as he has been using name calling and defamation against the other blogs from the beginning and it is well documented, so I hope he did contact the authorities, as I have so much to share. I intend to take this up with the proper authorities from here on out.
I’ve read that the tape may have been placed on Caylee after death to stop fluids. I’ve missed some of that conversation. Wouldn’t it be difficult to get the tape to adhere at this stage? I realize the hair may be dry, but some of the leakage would’ve gone to one side of the head.
Even if taped is stuck around from dry side to dry side, I’m thinking the leakage would be hard to completely seal off, unless the idea was just to block some.
Hey Ideas! I’ve read some of what you are talking about, and while I know some believe that, I do not. The theory is that she was making it look like a kidnapping after the fact, and I don’t believe that. I think the tape was put on her prior to death. I do think it would be difficult to do so after the fact, especially with her being in the trunk as she would be decomposing at a faster rate due to the heat. (sorry to be so graphic)

Ok, so at the end of trial, who presents their conclusion first to the jury, the Prosecution or the Defense? (Shows you what I know about the courtroom)
Casey will really have to work on her composure for those last statements.
Prosecution goes first, then the defense, and at any time there can be cross examination from either side, of a witness when that side they are on is done with them. That’s in the testifying. As for closing arguments, same order I believe, but no cross examination.

Tina you are sweet to ask. I had lung cancer five years ago and I thought I had it beat because I just passed the five-year mark but I recently had an xray of my chest for another reason and they are concerned because they can see another small shadow on my lungs.
I am not overly worried ~ it could even be just scar tissue but the technician says it looks a little different so it must be checked of course. I feel fine and I think if it is cancer again I will deal with it as I did the last time.
You great women have been so sweet and I am honoured by your kindness. I’m fortunate enough to have very good friends around me and even here in blogdom with you, Niecey, Ostella, Jill, Nancy, Humble, Ideas ~ all of these smart, warm-hearted women mean a lot to me.
Scar tissue is all it is. I’m sure. You have no idea how much you mean to all of us Bees. We love ya!

The defense got the WFTV find and the investigation thereof handed over to them last week. I’m not sure when and if it will be released to the public.

Thank you for your prayers. I’m very optomistic ~ well, except for the couple times I’ve woken in the night and was all alone with my thoughts. I felt a bit of fear creep in then. But one of the reasons I’m still around today is because the cancer was detected really early the last time. With lung cancer you usually don’t know about it until you’re coughing up blood and by then it’s usually too late. Now again, if this is cancer it has been caught early so my chances of survival are a lot higher. And I’m young. Well, not THAT young but awful young to have lung cancer.
Freedom of laughter should be a constitutional right! Maybe embedded with free speech? I think so, anyway, it is rather laughable.

Positive thinking is essential! And early detection is indeed a blessing. My grandmother passed away a few years ago, due to lung cancer. She chainsmoked 3-4 packs of cigs a day for about 50 years, though. This is (partly) why my mom and I are exercise/health freaks. I will think positive thoughts for you!!!!!

I am waxing philosophical now. I think the reason for people getting angry is because of the great amount of hypocrisy we’ve see. As you’ve pointed out before, they practically foam at the mouth if anybody makes a negative remark about the lying Anthony family! They will not tolerate bashing or name calling, they say. And immediately upon saying that, they start name calling ~ “snakes,” “pigs,” “fecal matter,” etc. etc. HA HA HA!!!We’ve read all the names they’ve thrown at us. But somehow in their mind the rules do not apply to them. For some reason it is worse to call Lee “tube sox boy” than it is to call a blogger “filth,” “tarts,” and “vermin” etc. There’s really only one word for that. *HYPOCRISY.* You can’t call people names while you are telling them it is wrong to call people names! Seems pretty clear to me, but who knows? Maybe that’s a tough concept for some.
HYPOCRISY IT IS! It’s also called a sense of entitlement. They are entitled to be put on a pedestal, and everyone else is beneath them. Everyone owes them something, and they are always right. NOT!!!

Does anyone know what the FBI can do? I mean I admit to having quite a few run ins with them at Bill’s, it just sort of snowballed but they are totally obnoxious going in there throwing their weight around telling bloggers ‘not to bash the A’s on Bill’s friggin blog. It made me livid. So now will I see the FBI at my doorsteps because I said they are overstepping boundaries using ownership of blogs to delve into IP’s threats of exposing where you live of outing you when they disagree with what you say, usually because you ‘bashed the Anthony’.
God I despise that little worm. Will this complaint he made online be taken seriously, should I get an attorney..lol..?? I better shut-up before I get in more trouble…spies lurking.
They are not going to do a thing.
